State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Company is one of the larger provincial grid companies within the State Grid Corporation of China system. It currently oversees 13 cities, 51 county (city) companies, and over 20 research, maintenance, construction, and other units, serving 38 million electricity customers across the province. The company employs approximately 39,000 staff and 43,000 rural electricians. It boasts over 2,990 substations of 35 kV and above, with 87,000 kilometers of transmission lines, making its grid scale larger than that of countries such as the United Kingdom and Italy. The voltage qualification rate and the grid's ability to withstand risks have reached international advanced levels. Currently, the Jiangsu power grid has entered an era of ultra-high voltage, large-scale grids, and high loads.

In 2015, Jiangsu's total electricity consumption reached 511.5 billion kWh, an increase of 2.04%; the maximum dispatching load was 84.8 million kW, an increase of 3.34%. The company completed electricity sales of 436.4 billion kWh, an increase of 2.35%; completed fixed assets investment of 32.9 billion yuan; put into operation 2,841 kilometers of 110-500 kV lines, with a substation capacity of 21.98 million kVA; achieved operating revenue of 269.9 billion yuan and a profit of 7 billion yuan; total assets amounted to 269.1 billion yuan. It ranked first in three categories in the peer benchmarking of the State Grid Corporation of China: "Comprehensive Benchmark", "Performance Benchmark", and "Management Benchmark"; and obtained the first place in the performance assessment of enterprise leaders of the State Grid Corporation of China at the A level.
